International travel from Johannesburg plus the 6-day / 5-night Seven Churches land programme based in Izmir.

Travel Day

Johannesburg to Türkiye

Depart Johannesburg for Istanbul and connect onward to Izmir. For the October journey, departure is provisionally planned for 5 October 2027, subject to the final airline schedule.

Day 1

Arrive in Izmir

Arrive at Izmir Airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Visit St Polycarp Church if time permits.

Day 2

Pergamum & Thyatira

Visit Pergamum Acropolis and Thyatira. Return to Izmir for your overnight stay.

Day 3

Smyrna, Sardis & Philadelphia

Explore Smyrna Agora, Sardis and Philadelphia before returning to Izmir.

Day 4

Hierapolis & Laodicea

Visit Hierapolis and Laodicea, then return to Izmir for the evening.

Day 5

Ephesus

Visit Ephesus, the Terrace Houses, museum and Basilica of St John. Overnight in Izmir.

Day 6

Departure

Transfer to Izmir Airport for your onward journey. End of the Seven Churches tour.

Return Travel

Türkiye to Johannesburg

Fly from Izmir via Istanbul to Johannesburg. Arrival is provisionally expected on 12 October 2027, subject to the final airline schedule.

Any difference caused by the confirmed group fare, airline taxes, fuel surcharges or exchange-rate movements will be disclosed before final payment.

Pricing basis: Indicative rand equivalents use US$1 = R16.50 and a provisional flight allowance of R25,000 per person. These are planning figures, not a confirmed airline quotation. The final rand amount will be confirmed in writing once the group size, Turkish land arrangements and airline group fare are known.

Proposed Booking & Payment Framework

Current Stage:
Registrations of interest only. No booking is confirmed and no payment is required at this stage.

Proposed Land Deposit:
Once formal bookings open, a land deposit of US$250 per person (currently approximately R4,125) is expected to secure a place, subject to availability and the final written booking terms.

Flight Deposit:
The amount and due date will be confirmed only after the airline provides its group quotation and payment deadlines.

Proposed Monthly Payments:
A deposit followed by monthly payments is being planned. The exact schedule will be issued before travellers are asked to book.

Final Group Rate:
Will depend on the confirmed number of travellers, exchange rate and airline group fare.

Flights:
Included in the indicative complete-package total, based on a provisional R25,000 allowance per person.

When formal bookings open, payments will be made to Padmaats in South African rand under written booking and cancellation terms. Final availability, airline confirmation, exchange rates and supplier conditions will apply.

Your final total follows your confirmed group size and flight quotation.

The more confirmed Padmaats travellers on a selected departure, the lower the applicable US-dollar land rate can be. The flight portion is finalised when the airline confirms its group fare.

Simple group-rate structure

You do not need to organise a private group to join. Register for the primary October journey, or note your interest in the alternative September journey, and Padmaats will confirm the applicable group-rate bracket as numbers build.

One complete-package total

For easier South African budgeting, the indicative total includes both the Turkey land package and a provisional flight allowance. Padmaats will replace the allowance with the confirmed airline group fare before final payment.
